धर्मे नष्टे कुलं कृत्स्नमधर्मोऽभिभवत्युत ||
Dharme nashte kulam kritsnam-adharmo-abhibhavaty-uta
Commentary & Explanation
With the destruction of family members, especially old ones, the religious practices of the family will be lost. There will be confusion, lot of practices might be missed.
The duties of Kshatriyas include protection of the society, encouragement to the wisdom seeking, destruction of vice, keeping bio life in balance (killing of deer or tigers depending what is needed) and overall happiness of the society.
If the clan is destroyed there will be discontinuation of the duties of the Kshatriya(protector), He whose duty is to take the society upwards will indulge himself in pleasures and the affairs of the society will be left unattended.
