Chapter 1. Despondency of Arjuna: Verse 22

Sanskrit Verse


यावदेतान्निरीक्षेऽहं योद्धुकामानवस्थितान् |
कैर्मया सह योद्धव्यमस्मिन् रणसमुद्यमे ||

Transliteration


Yaavad-etaan-nireekshe-aham yoddhu-kaamaan-avasthitaan
kair-mayaa saha yoddhavyam-asmin rana-samudyame

English Translation


So that I see those who are positioned in their places, whom I must fight in this great battle.

Commentary & Explanation

Arjuna desiring to see all those he had to fight against asks Krishna to move his chariot in between the Kaurava and Pandava army. There on the Kaurava side had assembled his own kith and kin.
